Plattenbau IW76 P2-5/6 No.1-2
Hello Folks,
today’s upload is a random assortment of "Plattenbau"-blocks I found in Halle-Silberhöhe, Germany. Included are straight blocks in varying lengths and heights,
curved blocks with and without passageways in the middle and straight blocks with additional connectors for corners.
A total of 13 different blocks is included in this pack.
Naming scheme:
Forgive me for the rather cumbersome naming scheme, I’m still not sure how I wanna tackle the sheer amount of different segments with a good, graspable naming scheme.
So I opted for the original one, which in itself is very intelligible, but it’s German and not all abbreviations translate well into English.
The 13 included segments have been named after original blueprints I found.
The blocks have been planned and built in Halle, hence the first three letters "HAL".
"IW" stands for "Industrieller Wohnungsbau" or "Industrial apartment construction", "76" indicating the year the blocks have been planned.
"P2-5" and "P2-6" specifies that the "P2" prefab-standard was used, the "5" or "6" specifies the number of floors each segment has.
"*EW" and "*ES" stands for the number of entrances per segment and what side they are on. So "EW" translates to Eingang (entrance) Wohnseite (living room side), which is the side with balconies.
"KX" (konvex) indicates a curved segment in convex form, the additional "-D" stands for "Durchgang" (passageway). There is also "KV" (konkav/concave) segments, but they are not included.
"VS" and "VW" specify that the block has a connector, the last letter states which side of the block it’s on. "W" being Wohnseite (living room side), the side with balconies.
The "No.*" stands for each color variant respectively.
As I’m a lazy sloth, there is no Overview-Image for now.
In-game:
The segments can be found under their names, starting with "HAL IW76 P2" or alternatively by searching for "Plattenbau".
The tiled part of the balconies is color-mapped.
Most of the buildings are made to fit the in-game grid perfectly. Especially the corner blocks are easy to use in 90 degree corners.
All segments with a odd number of entrances aren’t flush with the lot boundaries, so using Move It is a must.
The curved blocks also need a bit of fiddling around to work. A curved segment is bent by a total of 18 degrees, so 5 of them create a 90 degree corner.
All segments share the same main texture file. Using the Loading Screen Mod to tremendously cut down on file size is advised.
