JR四国予讃線 下灘駅 / JP Shimonada Station
Shimonada Station is a station on the Shikoku Railway Company’s (JR Shikoku) Yosan Line, located in Okubo, Futami-cho, Iyo-shi, Ehime Prefecture, Japan. The station is located in Okubo, Futami-cho, Iyo City, Ehime Prefecture, at an elevation of 11 m above sea level.
You can see the wide sea (Iyo-nada) from the platform, and the area around the station is known among railroad fans
as one of the best places to take railroad photos. Before the opening of National Route 378, which reclaimed the sea surface, the station was the closest to the sea in Japan, with the track so close to the coast that the waves lapped ight under the platform.

下灘駅（しもなだえき）は、愛媛県伊予市双海町大久保にある、四国旅客鉄道（JR四国）
予讃線（愛ある伊予灘線）の駅である。駅番号はS09。標高11 m。観光列車・伊予灘ものがたりが運転停車する。
ホームから広い海（伊予灘）を眺めることができ、駅周辺は鉄道写真の撮影名所の一つとして鉄道ファンの間に知られている。
海面を埋め立てる形で国道378号が開通するまでは、ホームの下にすぐ波が打ち寄せるほど線路と海岸が近接した「日本一海に近い駅」だった。
