JR Kyushu 885 White Sonic 6car
It is an AC-linked vehicle dedicated to express trains under Japan’s Kyushu Railway (JR Kyushu). This model is a member of the Hitachi decentralized power train family "A-train". The model was designed by the Don Design Institute (Don Design Institute) hosted by Mitooka Eiji. The streamlined appearance of the vehicle is similar to the German ICE-3 and ICE-T trains, except for the shadow of the Shinkansen.
Gull Train (かもめ/Kamome): It runs on the section between Hakata and Nagasaki on the Kagoshima Main Line and Nagasaki Main Line. The "White Gull" fleet entered service on March 11, 2000.
White Sonic (白いソニック/White Sonic): Sonic is a limited express train that runs between Oita and Hakata. It mainly runs on Kagoshima Main Line and Nippo Main Line. Since Sonic is operated by both the 883 series and the 885 series, Therefore, the service that uses the 885 series is specially named "White Sonic" to distinguish it from the 883 series Sonic, which has a metallic blue car body. The "Sonic" fleet entered service on March 3, 2001.
The 885 series was initially divided into 7 rows of "White Gull" (SM1-SM7, painted with yellow ribbon) and 4 rows of "White Sonic" (SM8-SM11, painted with blue ribbon); but later the entire fleet It was remodeled to be interchangeable, so all the groups were repainted with blue ribbons before June 2012.
