Common Ground
This mod makes terrain outside the purchased area and in the map editor behave as if it was purchased. This means higher terrain mesh resolution, and surface modifications such as clipping or gravel work. For reference, see the map editor screenshots above; the left side is with common ground enabled.
This mod does not store anything in the savegame and can thus be unsubscribed without breaking your save. Likewise, if you use this mod in the map editor, your players won’t need it to play your map.
However, the terrain will revert to its default (undetailed) state, thus you’ll probably see terrain glitches until you / your players purchase that tile.
Changing those settings in-game will take effect once the settings window is closed.
- always detailed area:
Controls which map tiles the mod operates on..
Selecting new tiles to detail has an immediate effect, unselecting tiles only applies on the next map load.
Values:
- CenterTile
The center tile of the map.
- StartTile
The tile that is currently defined as the start tile for the map.
In the map editor, this will follow the start tile if you change it, the old start tile will remain detailed until you restart the game however.
Doesn’t have any noticeable effect in a regular game, as the start tile counts as purchased anyway.
- Square25
5×5 area centered on the map, i.e. any tile that a player might be offered for purchase in vanilla.
- Square49
7×7 area centered on the map, i.e. all tiles except those at the edge of the map.
- Square81
9×9 area centered on the map, i.e. the entire map.
- AdjacentToPurchased
Any tile that is next to a tile that you bought. Might be useful if you want to keep terrain glitches just out of view´.
Incompatible with the 81tiles mod.
Has no effect in the map editor.
- Custom
Allows you to select individual tiles, creating arbitrary patterns. The checkboxes are in map arrangement, i.e. north is up and east is right.
- CenterTile
The AdjacentToPurchased mode is incompatible with the 81tiles mod.
