Temperate | 1.2m Trees | Two Map Versions in Download | Use Tree Anarchy Mod

Based on the geography of southern England, Oxbridge Regis is a fictional location of rolling countryside and coastline. You’ll find fields, country estates, castles, disused branch lines, farms and rural lanes in the wider landscape and along the River Ox. The map offers many locations for large and small towns, which can be connected to create a city. Infrastructure is provided with a partially complete motorway system enveloping the map, rail connections, an international rail link terminal (modelled on the Channel Tunnel) and a coastal harbour.

Instructions

Subscribing will download two versions of this map:
– ‘Lite’ Map includes basic vanilla style networks with recommended graphic assets for low-end computers.
– ‘Detailed’ Map includes advanced highway, road and rail networks, with modded graphic assets needed to achieve the look in the screenshots.
Subscribe to all assets and mods within the relevant linked collection
– Oxbridge Regis: Required Items Pack 1 – Required for both maps.
– Oxbridge Regis: Required Items Pack 2 – Required for ‘Detailed’ map.
Start Cities Skylines, enter Content Manager to activate any new mods. Ensure your ‘Tree Anarchy’ settings enable at least 1.2m trees on load otherwise your map will be broken.
Map is now ready for playing. Choose map version to play.
Select ‘Left Hand Traffic’ to ensure the lane markings face the correct direction.

Map Info

Road: 5 connections – including two country roads capable of being upgraded to highways. There are three routes to the start square.
Rail: 4 / 4 connections – including the Channel Tunnel.
Shipping: 4 / 4 connections – not connected to avoid unnecessary traffic.
Aircraft route: 4 / 4 connections.
Trees: 1.2m. Mod required.
Buildable area: 93% ewith various locations of a network of large towns and smaller villages elsewhere. I recommend the 81-tiles mod to gain access to all parts of the map as detailing extends across all tiles.

Detailing and Visuals

The detailing is extensive across all 81-tiles. Some areas are more detailed than others to give the player so ideas on how to create their landscape.

The map visuals are your choice. A simple option is to use the base theme ‘Euro 4K’ and the ‘Realistic v1.2’ LUT. Alternatively to replicate my screenshots use the following with are in the ‘Required Items 2 Pack’:

Finally…

I made this map as a follow-up to my first map ‘Midsomer’. The idea for Oxbridge Regis was inspired by ‘Forel95’, who kindly sent me his version of Midsomer with a coastline added, so i wanted to create a new southern-UK fantasy map starting from scratch with new 1:1 scale heightmaps by merging both inland and coastal environments. I hope you enjoy this one.

I would have preferred to use the UK Roads Project Motorways by Macwelshman, however these are not used because they are incompatible with the Intersection Marking Tool.
