La Crosse (Vanilla)
As stated, this is a vanilla map of La Crosse, Wisconsin. My primary goal was to capture the essence of the Mississippi River Valley and its complex waterways.
There are large areas of flat land surrounded by bluffs dissected by two major highways. Originally I planned to recreate the highway infrastructure of La Crosse accurately but ultimately decided to simplify it as I didn’t want the highway/rail network to overly influence the city builder’s layout. That layout is best decided by you so I kept it simple.
I had planned on including ship traffic but have chosen to exclude it. The complexity of the waterways makes it a nightmare! There is one rail line that runs through the map with a spur line that is accessible early in the build. One air path crosses the map. All resources are available within 25 tiles.
This is my first attempt at map making and I thought starting Vanilla was sensible. Plus I wanted to be able to invite everyone to Wisconsin…
