US NAVY Wasp-class aphibious assualt ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6), model and texture by WTigerTw. Wasp -class amphibious assualt ship is capable of carrying multiple helicopters and fix-wing aircraft to support amphibious assualt, and also carry large amount of marines and their euipment to launch a strike from the ocean. Wasp class is more than 40,000 tons, although not listed as aircraft carrier by the US NAVY, but it is capable of carrying about 20 AV-8B or 20 F-35B for sea control, making it actually more capable than most of the light aircraft carrier around the world. A typical marine task force will contain 12 MV-22B Osprey, 4~5 AH-1Z Viper attack helo, 3~4 UH-1Z utility helo,2~4 CH-53K Heavy lift helo along with 6~8 F-35B/AV/-8B for sea control and close air support. USS Bonhomme Richard is launched at 1998 and is originally expected to serve up to 2040, however, in June 2020, a fire onboard made severe damage to the ship, and the US NAVY decided to decommission it in 2021. This asset is created to memorize this awesome warship and keep it alive in the game.
The asset does not include any aircraft or deck equipment . I might/might not upload a version with aircraft, since to contain all the aircraft/GSE it will be around 250,000 tris and probably 30 MB. If you really want the version with aircraft and don’t care about the crazy number of tris and file size, please comment to let me know. If I feel that most people need it then I’ll work on that.
