Dutch House #16
This week, The Netherlands celebrates the liberation of the country and the end of the second world war 77 years ago. In the second world war, +-9000 farms were destroyed. In the following era of reconstruction(1945-1965), the farms were restored in a neo-traditional style called the Delftse School. This farm was inspired by a ‘Wederopbouwboerderij’ in the east of the Netherlands, at Diepenveen. The cattle and the house was situated under the same roof. The new farms had modern standards for light in the house & hygienic milk processing, and this one had room for 26 cows.
