Global Collaboration 2022 Map
* Updated the plane paths to standard segment lengths.
* Updated the ship paths to standard segment lengths.
This is an almost vanilla tropical themed map designed to offer a bit of a challenge. It comprises two large islands that are connected to each other via a thin, mountainous strip of land. Though the map itself looks big, very little buildable area is actually available to the player. This is to challenge your creativity in placement of stuff should you choose to work with the landscape as it is, without much terraforming. The almost vanilla is as a result of a custom tree being used to create the beach areas.
This map was built for the Global Collaboration project of 2022. The aim was to create a map that looks visually big, offers nice backdrops, as well as many different options for building. From flat landscape areas, to numerous beaches, to mountainous builds, this map offers it, allowing for each participant in the collaboration to exercise their choice.
Features of the map:
- All resources, farmland, oil and ore
- All transport connections, road, rail, air and ship
- Plenty of water for fishing industry
- Lots of forestry
- Beautiful beaches for your resorts
- Decent amount of flatland
This map requires the Mass Transit DLC, has ~160 000 trees (I think), and is optimised for 25 tiles play.
The Global Collaboration project is a project in which different builders work on the same save file, to build one city, or collection of cities and towns. This project is organised by Paradox Interactive, and it aims to bring together creators in the community. Each builder gets one week to build what they want, then pass the save on to the next person. Each builder then posts their build on their YouTube channel for everyone to enjoy!
Screenshots were taken with the following visual settings:
Map Theme: Seychelles Map Theme
LUT: Relight – using RelightFilm with the Sun Temperature value increased to 0.8.
This map was built with mods so road spacing may differ from vanilla spacing. I especially used the new Network Anarchy mod with segment lengths that are longer than the vanilla ones. None of the above should affect vanilla gameplay as far as I am aware.
I want to say a big thanks to Paradox Interactive for allowing me to participate in this competition. A playlist of all the builds in the project can be found here: Cities: Skylines Global Collaboration 2022.
If you enjoy this map, please give it a thumbs up as it serves to show that you like my work and it also motivates me to keep sharing. Thanks in advance.
