Alstom TWINDEXX – Amtrak ‘City of Boston’ (8Cars)
TWINDEXX is a brand new double trains previously manufactured by Bombardier (now Alstom) for Swiss Federal Railways. They are also known as ‘FV-Dosto’ in Switzerland. I was curious about how an Amtrak double decker EMU would look like, so decided to make this fictional variant, carrying Phase 7 color design. Later on, I made additional variants for high floor entry.
‘City of Boston’ is a mixed-floor entry, 8 cars long consist aimed to service long range routes. Unlike other LR variants, ‘Boston’ end coaches allows low platform entry to maximize accessibility. Pantograph height is compatible with Railway 2 networks, which they have NEC/PRR standard wire height.
