Völklingen [de.wikipedia.org] ist eine an der Saar gelegene Mittelstadt mit ca. 40.000 Einwohnern. Sie ist nach Saarbrücken die zweitgrößte Stadt im Regionalverband Saarbrücken und gemessen an der Einwohnerzahl die viertgrößte Stadt des Saarlandes.

Die Stadt ist unter anderem bekannt für das Weltkulturerbe "Völklinger Hütte".

English description:
Völklingen is a medium-sized town on the Saar with around 40,000 inhabitants. After Saarbrücken, it is the second largest city in the Saarbrücken regional association and the fourth largest city in Saarland in terms of population.

Among other things, the city is known for the World Heritage Site "Völklinger Hütte/Ironworks".
