Description:
The Alaska Building

The Alaska Building is a 15 storey building in Seattle, Washington completed in 1904 to designs by St. Louis architects Eames and Young. At the time of its completion, it was the tallest building in the state of Washington—and remained so until 1910.

The building was the first steel frame building of any height in the Northwest and Seattle’s first skyscraper. It remained Seattle’s tallest building for ten years after it was built. It was designed using terra cotta and in a style inspired by the Beaux Arts. The building dates from a period of economic and industrial growth, 1900-1910, in the heart of Seattle and in the city as a whole.

This asset was commissioned by nicocn383 for his fictional city of ‘Nick City’ based on a mix of Seattle, WA and Vancouver, B.C. Essentially a rainy and green North American city on the Pacific coast.

A big "thank you" to nicocn383 for providing the excellent screenshots.

I’ve tried to make this asset as realistic as possible and therefore the geometry tri count is high and the textures large. The model has been optimised as much as possible without compromising the structure and detail of the original building. All of the texture elements have been created specifically for this asset in order for full control over the final look.

Please try this asset out and if there are any problems let me know in the comments below.
