Description:

Ah yes, the 80s. Without them, we wouldn’t have a lot of things here that we’re using now. For instance, city-building games wouldn’t even be a thing if it weren’t for the 80s, because that one city-themed llama simulator game was totally the 80s. But perhaps that isn’t enough, and you’d really want to delve into the 80s more so than expanding your urban empire. Well look at what the gopher dragged in!

Los Santos Rock Radio from that bustling city of stars in San Andreas, with the host of the one and only "Captain" Kenny Loggins. Because how else am I supposed to go driving down along the beachside road in my purple Lamborghini Countach Pegassi Torero to get to the yacht club without blarring some yacht rock? Not only that, we’ve got power pop, some glam, epic solos, and many other things in this station.

And much like Non Stop Pop FM, I’ve beefed up the station with more tracks in my collection, giving us Rockstar’s favorite number of 69 total music tracks. And of course, some adverts were carried over from the GTA universe as well, but not all of them because I feel like we’ve moved on… After all, you don’t need prohibition to make America great again, just a yacht, long hair, and a guitar…

As with anything coming from Rockstar and some music tracks, there is explicit content involved.

MUSIC BELONGS TO THEIR RESPECTIVE CREATORS AND LABELS

And of course, just a few quick things I’m gonna answer before they’re asked:

Q: Why is INXS’ "New Sensation" on this playlist for?
A: It honestly fits in better on this station. INXS isn’t really a "pop" band and haven’t exactly made their image as a pop band. Hell, did you not watch when they had an audition on reality TV? They flat out said it was "No Bubblegum Pop" routine.

Q: You added in stuff by Jimmy Buffett, KISS, and Guns n’ Roses… How do they even fit in here?
A: Yeah, "yacht rock" is a very odd cluster of music indeed. But those musicians have been played in classic 70s/80s stations before, and ya know, Buffett has a nautical theme in his songs, much as the station has a nautical theme itself.

Q: Oh and why are Bryan Adams, Elton John, and Billy Joel here again?
A: While some musicians/groups are very much tied to one genre, some are capable of "crossover" into other genres.

Q: Once again, you’ve picked some really "obscure" songs for Queen… Everyone knows that…
A: I’m sorry, as good of a song as it is, "Bohemian Rhapsody" is a subject of many parodies, even when not used in an entirely humorous context. Do you take Journey’s "Don’t Stop Believing" at face value, or do you find it funny that it’s using the same four chords as many other songs and seems over-the-top? WHEN THE INTERNET RADIO COMES, YOU WILL FIND THAT QUEEN SONG THERE, OKAY?
