Mason Neck – Vanilla + Mass Transit
In the 1700s, you buy a swampy peninsula along the Potomac River just south of what would become Washington, D.C. What better do to than to decimate the nature around you and construct America’s newest port city! You just may need a bit of landfill to fill those swamps :).
Using the height map from Virginia’s Mason Neck State Park, I have created an area perfect for your next big city. There are 195,000 trees, around 55,000 under the tree limit. The map is 1:1 terrain, but with infrastructure tailored for Cities: Skylines game play. There are five custom interchanges, four ship connections, and four plane connections. There is even a custom bridge!
This map works as intended in vanilla Cities: Skylines with the Mass Transit DLC. However, I detailed some of the interchanges with Node Controller and IMT, so if you would like those extra road details, subscribe to those mods.
The visuals in the screenshots above are a product of the mods in the attached collections. Settings are included in this map’s screenshots. I used a custom theme which is in said collection as well. Further, Render It! import is available in the collection’s description. I am using the Relight2Average LUT by Ronyx69.
Special thanks to Teddy Radko for allowing me to use some parts of his pre-built bridges from allbuilds[www.allbuilds.org]. The towers from the bridge are his, while I made the cables.
Also a huge thanks goes to the Cities: Skylines Map Makers discord. They helped with tech support, inspiration, and helping me pick the preview image!
This map will not have any conflicts with the new transport hubs update. Any issues will be with mods installed, not with this map.
