Island of Sodor
The fictional island in the United Kingdom – as seen in the Thomas the Tank Engine series.
The Island of Sodor is the home of the North Western Railway, with engines of all shapes and sizes, working hard to deliver goods and passengers to their destinations. There are branch lines that run along the coast of the island, serving the docks, the fishing villages and the seaside towns. There are branch lines that run to the farms, quarries and ancient castles of the island’s heartland. And there is the main line, which runs all the way from Knapford on the west coast of the island, to Vicarstown, in the east. The line continues over the Vicarstown Bridge, where it connects to the mainland beyond
If you would like to recreate the lines, roads, and towns on the Island of Sodor – you can use Mbyron26’s amazing Image Overlay 2 mod.
There are many different interpretations of the track/road layouts – so find one you like and overlay it! I plan on using a combination of the official Rev. Wilbert Awdry map (hi-res link)[www.deviantart.com] and The Unlucky Tug’s map (hi-res link)[drive.google.com]
I would also recommend the use of the Railway 2 mod for tracks/track replacement – as the vanilla tracks don’t handle multiple junctions very well (and Sodor has a LOT of junctions)
