Description:

European oriented map theme with sharp textures.

My goal with this map theme is a sharp and detailed looking view when zoomed in while still looking "ok" if zoomed out. (4k resolution)

Visibility of textures trigger late to have better controll when they should appear.
Ruined texture create a strong repeating pattern if used on large areas. Combine them with trees to break the pattern and create a nice forest floor.
Sand texture (normal map) can be used to add more details to mountains to give them a mossy look.

Current sun settings are optimized to get an average to good visibility from the normal maps from all angles with disabled day/night cycle (~12:00). [currently looking to skip normal maps and add them to the difuse texture]
If you use additional mods to edit sun direktion and light settings you might get different results on the cliff texture since they are depending on the normal map. Try to reposition the sun to get better visibility of the normal map on the cliff texture.

Screenshots are taken on map iLand and Satalite LUT with clouds and fog disabled.

Texture source:
Some textures are modified versions from Laviante 2.1 ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2430707377 )
with mixins from texturelib.com

Cliff: Laviante 2.1 – recolored, increased sharpnes and new normal map
Sand: Laviante 2.1 – recolored, increased sharpnes
Grass: Laviante 2.1 – recolored, increased sharpnes
Gravel: Laviante 2.1 – recolored, increased sharpnes

If you dont know the Laviante themes check them out. Great work from the creators!

I follow the way of the original authors since it is the original idea of the internet and steal the next sentence from them 😀

“You can dump all theme textures, do whatever you want with them.”

PS: Did someone know how to remove light reflection from sand texture ? On other textures you can change the alpha color to black to prevent reflection since the engine use the alpha channel as specular map too. But it didtn work on the sand texture. Any suggestions ?
