Description:

The KiHa 54 series (キハ54型, Kiha-gojuyon-gata) is a diesel multiple unit (DMU) train type introduced by Japanese National Railways (JNR) in 1986.

Two types were produced: a warm-weather type for Shikoku (KiHa54 1 -) and a very cold-weather type for Hokkaido (KiHa54 501 -), with reasonable differences in the specifications and forms of each part.
