Description:

The second asset in a new series of buildings based on the once thriving, but now depressed town of Wilkinsburg, PA just outside of Pittsburgh.

This single story commercial building containing three storefronts sits to the left of the Struble Bros. building. It housed businesses that contributed to the once bustling town. From left to right:

Lawrence & Son Shwinn. My dad had told me that there had once been a Schwinn bike shop located here. While I could find almost no further information in my online searches, I did find mention of there being a location in Wilkinsburg (no address provided) from an old Schwinn advertisement. Through some further research, I’m about 90% sure that it was called Lawrence & Son.

Romano Tailors & Cleaners …or perhaps it was Romano Cleaners & Tailors? I was able to find the name from an online obituary, but then I was unable to access it again, so it’s a 50/50 shot of being correct.

Yuen Fong Laundry This was once a traditional Chinese hand laundry common in many cities across the US in the early to mid 20th Century, and one of up to a dozen once located within WIlkinsburg. Mr. Fong was friends with my grandfather, and used to grow grapes on an arbor behind the building. I vaguely remember going there when I was a child.

The building now sits vacant like many of the other buildings left in town.

This 2×2 low commercial growable is based on the Wilkinsburg, PA location, I made it true to scale, so it is narrower than the 2 unit (16M) lot. Due to this, it is recommended that you use Move It to achieve the wall to wall look.

Please give me a like with a "thumbs up" if you enjoy.
