The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) TurboTrain was a North American gas turbine train capable of high speeds. It was in service from 1968 to 1982 and none were preserved. The TurboTrain was very experimental being one of the first to use gas turbines for power and a tilting mechanism to handle curves faster. They were built like an airplane. The body was made with aluminum and had airplane style seats and food services. Some US TurboTrains were equipped with a third rail to operate underground in New York City. The elevated cab section on the engines has the control cab and a viewing lounge. The livery of this asset was based on the early Amtrak livery.
