Storkyrkan
Made for my Sthlm1925 project where I recreate the capital of Sweden as it looked like in 1925.
Storkyrkan (‘The Great Church’) is from 1306 or even older, but it has been altered through the centuries. It lies at the highest point of Gamla stan.
Inside it is the well known sculpture Saint George and the Dragon, commemorating the victory of Sten Sture the Elder over the Danish army in the nearby Battle of Brunkeberg in 1471, which saved Sweden from Danish rule.
It’s recently been restored and repainted in a pink color, from a previous brown/yellow. The new color is the same as it had after a major renovation in 1740. The colors of my model don’t do it justice, in reality it looks like a delicious cake and they’ve done a fantastic job.
It’s based on the cathedral template, footprint is 6×9 tiles.
Tris: main 2580, lod ca 486.
Textures (d, s, n, i) are 2048×2048 and for lod (d, s, i) 128×128.
