some history:
The industrial revolution in Wallonia was a major change in construction and urban planning. Factories appeared in the middle of the city and created pollution, but also employment and wealth. Much of that past glory can still be found in Charleroi, Liège, Verviers etc. These cities have gotten a bad name due to poverty, drug use, vacancy, etc. But I think these cities are beautiful and more than worth a visit and, moreover, the Authenticity of the region has been preserved in these cities.
