Description:

VL80 (Vladimir Lenin; 8-axis, single-phase alternating current) – built from 1979 to 1995, during the times of the USSR and the Russian Federation

Initially, the electric locomotive was built with the ability to operate only two or four coupled sections. In 1982, electric locomotives 550, 551, 552 were built, which could operate in two, three or four sections.
VL80 could develop a speed of 110 km / h and a total of 5140 units were built, while the VL80S turned out to be the most massive. Such electric locomotives were produced in 2746 units.

Now VL80 has been operated or is operated in the following countries:
USSR
Russia
Belarus
Ukraine
Kazakhstan
Uzbekistan

There are at least three mass colors VL80: Russia, USSR and Ukraine.
