Description:
Welcome home the Spirit of Midcentury Detroit!

An icon of modernism, the esteemed Coleman A. Young Municipal Center (formerly Detroit City-County Building) rises above the banks of the Detroit River between Lake Erie and St Clair. A commanding view of nation’s border in one direction, and the Art Deco giants of Detroit’s beating heart in the other. Truly, an excellent location to have you arraignment!

Looking for that North-By-Northwest vibe? Scale this baby up with PO & it doubles as a fine UN Headquarters tower! Perfect locale for that Man in the Gray Flannel Suit to have a two(ish)-martini lunch with a view.

Deets

I’m riding the wave of Mid-Century Modern assets being released in conjunction with the creator pack. This finely detailed, minimalist tower will certainly fit right in with those sleek Googie assets. And, like most Miesian modernism, it can fit into any city anywhere.

Right now, the asset is just the tower set back on a featureless 6×4 concrete plaza. I will not be doing the shorter Admin Building part of the complex, but I will add in the grand entry overhang and (ideally) the Spirit of Detroit sculpture/podium right outside of this building after I get back from Peru.

This is also the first in my midcentury modern commercial/office series. They’ll share textures, but look completely different.
