Tacking Point Lighthouse
Find It!: Tacking
Big thanks to CyberScytheX for the additional screenshots (the zoomed out ones that look great)
This item includes a non-functioning building (templated off Abandoned Lighthouse) for Tacking Point Lighthouse, Australia’s 13th oldest lighthouse and a popular sightseeing spot near Port Macquarie, New South Wales. It takes up approximately 1×1 in-game. The building is quite short as it was built on a headland (Tacking Point) and takes advantage of the natural height.
It also includes a separate prop with a rotating spotlight, which uses the Custom Effect Loader. This was giving me grief when I tried to publish it embedded, and I figured some might prefer it without, so you need to place it yourself. The prop is a featureless arrow prism that can be fit inside the light on the model. The spotlight fades at a consistent point each revolution which allows you to line it up with the shielded portions of the lighthouse (to avoid shining on any nearby residents). The arrow is not necessarily related to the point of fading, it’s just easier to visualise its direction than a cube. It’s not perfect but it works okay.
