Gotham Bay, NJ

I’ve been making maps for city simulators since Sim City 4 and have always started them off in virgin lands. In the 21st century that just doesn’t seem plausible so this city actually starts off with a small pre-existing agricultural community from which youR city will arise. This particular map is based off of Gotham City as seen in the Chris Nolan movies, but I’ve taken considerable license to make it playable in Cities: Skylines. You can use this map recreate Gotham City, or to build one of you own. I intend on using to build a NYC type city. Below is a brief fictional history to get you in the mood along with all the assets you’ll need to get this working properly.

Gotham Bay is situated in the State of New Jersey, slightly to the north of Atlantic City on the eastern seaboard. The five main Gotham Islands are extremely fertile and sit at the head of Gotham Bay where it is fed by the Mullica River and springs flowing from the beneath the Gotham Hills extensive cave system.
The Gotham Islands were first sited by Europeans in 1635 by Captain Jon Logerquist sailing on behalf of the Dutch. The Dutch subsequently founded a settlement, Fort Gotham Bay, located on the coast. To this day one can see the remains of the old Dutch settlement on High Street. In 1665 the islands came under British control and the area became known for it’s extensive agricultural lands as they fueled the growth of New York and Philadephia.
In 1776 Gotham Bay native General Mad Anthony Wayne succeeded in distracting 10,000 British soldiers from joining the seige of New York in the Battle of Gotham Bay and thus covered Washington’s evacuation of New York and preserved the Continental Army. Following the American War for Independence the Wayne family built it’s fortune and the Gotham Bay area continued supplying the east coast with it’s agricultural produce. To this very day the Gotham Bay is known for it apples and vegetables, but with the Covid-19 recovery picking up pace the area around the old Gotham Bay High Street is being incorporated into a new city on America’s east coast.
