Required Assets & Mods

This map is made with the intention that you play it exclusively to create a small set of coastal towns. It’s a map I made for my own use, but as I was building, I said to myself, why not share it?

The use of some mods is essential, such as the Procedural Objects mod, since many things are made with it. You’ll find everything from bridges to aqueducts, waterfalls to rocks, even castles! Below, you’ll find the list of required items.

I’d been planning to make a map for a long time, but I always told myself, I’ll do it hehe. Finally, I decided to create this one. When I want to start from 0, I usually look for a map, and from there, I decide what urban style to give it. However, I had always wanted to create a small network of Mediterranean-inspired villages on a small map and I have never found a suitable map for that, so here I have mine.

The map is heavily inspired by the beautiful Amalfi Coast in Italy. If you don’t know it, I invite you to see it through images, videos, even google earth. I’ve never been there, but whenever I’ve seen it, I’ve always wanted to recreate it in CS.

The theme I’ve used is Praia, for everything, and for the beaches, I’ve used Seychelles sand. I think they both make a very good team. The cliffs of Praia look brutal!

Important 😛

The map is very small. In fact, only 13% are ready for construction. And of that percentage, I would say that only 2% or 3% would be ideal for building. As I said, it’s a small map designed to detail every stone you put in.

It has about 243,000 trees, most of which are distributed on the coast. Cliffs, waterfalls, animals, watch what you build, don’t let a fire spread lol It should have more, much more, but I also didn’t want to look excessive haha

Connections

Road:

A highway crosses the map from east to west. It’s the fast lane, it has tolls, it’s non-functional, it’s made with PO, but with Traffic Manager I’ve changed the speed of the lanes to be more realistic

The national road, also from east to west, has two entry and exit points to the highway. It’s a winding road, more realistically, with lots of tunnels and bridges

I’ve used roads from Macwelshman’s magnificent UK pack. Roads carry trees. Since I didn’t like how they looked because of the type of forest I created, you don’t need to download them. Anyway, everything you need is on the list of required assets.

Air:

2 connections, If you want to do an airport, it will be difficult, but not impossible

Ship:

4 connection, lots of ships, but it would be better to have yachts and fishing boats

Rail:

3 connections, to go by train, at the window site, would be a beautiful thing. Why don’t you give it a try?

My comment

It’s hard to put into words how grateful I am to all the people who have helped me during the process of creating this map. All of them belong to the CS Map Makers discord group. I’m not going to lie, making a map is like making a work of art. You despair, inspiration comes out, inspiration comes out again, and you despair again. You create, erase, make, and remake. But here it is, it’s finally done.

I would love to thank all the advice received from these guys, from Uncle Ron to Maverick, to Keraunos, Nyoko, Ilcicci1983, Jota133, MaccaPacca, Deeheks, Irlswee, Brom, 00000, and I’m sure I’ll leave some of them. Without your comments, advice, appreciations, I wouldn’t have gone ahead with this mini project. Really, the community we have is one of the best. We make this game magical, and that’s unforgettable.

Thank you so much Cysio, for your images. I loved them, and with my great "ability", irony mode on, to create things on the pc, I can present you all this beautiful map.

In a couple of days I’m going on a trip for three weeks. I know this map needs more, or better said, I’d like to include more, but I don’t want to go on a trip thinking about what I could add more. I’m sure I’ll end up making a 2.0 version, but in the meantime, I hope you like it <3
