Vale do Aço (Steel Valley) is a metropolitan area in eastern Minas Gerais, Brazil. It’s one of the biggest steel producers in the world and one of the richest regions in Brazil. With a half-million inhabitants, the metropolitan area have four cities (Timóteo, Coronel Fabriciano, Ipatinga and Santana do Paraíso) and many other cities in the "metropolitan collar". The region is served by federal highway BR-381 and some local state highways. The region is also served by the Vitória-Minas Railway "EFVM" (Estrada de Ferro Vitória-Minas in portuguese). The main river is the Piracicaba River – that disembogue in the Doce River – one of the biggest rivers in Brazil.

The topography gives you the possibility to make a huge metropolis or a network of local villages. You can also heavily invest on iron mining. The river is not navigable.

The region is in 1:1 scale. That’s my first map though.

To the east of the map where the density of the trees is bigger, you can use the region to create a natural park. In the real life, the area is where the Rio Doce State Park is suituated on.

A região metropolitana do Vale do Aço se localiza ao leste de Minas Gerais, Brasil. É parte da macrorregião do Vale do Rio Doce. É um dos maiores produtores de aço inoxidável do planeta e uma das mais prósperas regiões do país. Com meio milhão de habitantes, a região metropolitana é composta de quatro cidades (Timóteo, Coronel Fabriciano, Ipatinga e Santana do Paraíso) e outras cidades no chamado "Colar Metropolitano". A região é servida pela BR-381 e outras rodovias estaduais locais. Também é cortada pela Estrada de Ferro Vitória-Minas, que se inicia em Belo Horizonte e termina em Vitória. O principal rio é o Rio Piracicaba, que deságua no Rio Doce.

A topografia te dá a possibilidade de criar uma grande metrópole ou uma rede de pequenas vilas. Há possibilidade de grande investimento em mineração de ferro. O rio não é navegável e a região não é servida por petróleo.

Ao leste do mapa, onde a densidade das árvores é maior, é a região do Parque Estadual do Rio Doce. Você pode aproveitar a região para criar uma reserva natural ou expandir sua metrópole.
