1973 Dodge Polara Custom
The Polara was the base model Dodge produced from 1960 to 1973, with a couple body changes inbetween those years. The Polara being the base model was mainly intended for fleet use including police or taxi usage. While the Monaco, which shared the same body styling chassis and in some cases, engine, as well as the Dart were intended for public consumers who wanted more in their car. Eventually the Monaco outsold the Polara by quite a bit and Dodge pulled the plug on the Polara in 1973 leaving the Monaco as its replacement.
If you wanted luxury and features you went with the Monaco, If you just wanted a car you’d buy the Polara.
