Network Guardrail by VecchioChristo

This guardrail is best used with the parallel road tool.
Set it’s distance to 1/2 the road spacing distance. That will place it in the middle between the 2 roads.

When drawing out curves and you have to start and stop, if one side of the road doesn’t connect it will delete a section of the guardrail. When this happens I have found it best to copy the nearest intact section with "move it" and replace the missing section. You can also redraw the missing section.

Be careful when placing crossing bridges overhead! If the node and pillar hit the guardrail it will delete that section.

If you need a Y section in front of a bridge pillar, copy and paste a short section with move it.

If adding to existing roads and it’s vertical position doesnt match the road you can use the move it match object height tool.
To center and create a straight run between 2 existing roads after you draw out the guardrail select the start node manually center it, repeat for the end node, then use move it "line up objects" to straighten.

I have noticed working with this more, if the roads are right up tight against one another it becomes more difficult to make or draw out new curved sections. It works much better with a little space between roads. If I find a way to improve this I will update, but I’m not holding my breath.

WORKING NOTE: I have noticed while working with this on roads tight against each other (no space between) that are already layed, the guardrail node can be difficult to select. Use the "MOVE IT" marquee selector to select the node. Also dont place the node inline with the road nodes. If the guardrail node is inline with the road nodes it can be almost impossible to select! Also it seems easier to center node between roads by using "alt arrow keys" for fine adjustment.
