Description:

Welcome to Crestford! Here you will find beautiful snow-capped mountains surrounding flat valleys and a winding river, offering ideal locations to build a small or big city, or towns.

MASS TRANSIT
The Mass Transit DLC is required as the map uses the two-lane highway and the two-way highway from the DLC.

⚠️ The map will NOT work if you don’t have the Mass Transit DLC

The map includes:

  • 3 highway connections, to the North, West and South of the map,
  • 2 train connections, to the West and South
  • 2 ship connections
  • 2 plane connections
  • 108,498 trees
  • 494 props
  • Areas for a water pumping station and a water drain pipe in the starting tile

The map is based on a heightmap of the city of Morgan, Utah in the United States. It’s designed to feel like a pacific northwest area with big snowy mountains.

To design Crestford, I took inspiration from Rochester, New York, Vancouver, Seattle and the pacific northwest’s various landscapes and mountains, Two Dollars Twenty’s Springfield series as well as IhmeHihhuli’s King’s Bay map.

The map doesn’t really have any oil, as the theme I used uses the oil resource for the snow texture.
There is ore throughout the map, however it’s mostly used for aesthetics. I’ve made sure to add a bit more ore in the industrial area, however.
There’s lots of fertile land in the valleys and buildable areas.

Crestford was made using a theme mix that includes textures from Generic Temperate 4K, 4K Praria and Alps Dolomite. This theme mix is required to make the map look like in the screenshots.

💡 To apply the theme mix in-game, subscribe to Crestford Theme Mix and its requirements, open the Theme Mixer 2.5 interface, go to the Mixes panel, select the Crestford Map Theme theme mix and click Load

The map should still look decent and can work with different map themes, it simply won’t look as intended. Whether you use my custom theme mix or another theme is your choice.

Crestford was designed and built to work well without mods, but to get the best experience, I recommend to use Theme Mixer 2.5 (along with my custom theme mix), 81 Tiles 2 to unlock and use all tiles, Tree Control, TM:PE and Intersection Marking Tool.

As always while using mods, make sure that all your mods are compatible and up-to-date. You can (and should) use Skyve to help manage your mods.

I also use Relight/Lumina, with the Relight2Natural LUT included in More Relight LUTs. A screenshot of my Relight/Lumina settings is provided (in the carousel at the top) if you like to use that.

Along with Relight/Lumina, I use Render It! and Play It! to improve my game’s visuals.
The cubemap I’m using in the screenshots is Cloud Layers.

The map was designed primarily to fit my own needs and preferences. Mass Transit is used to create a better overall experience. I will not upload a version that doesn’t require Mass Transit.

❤️ Thank you for using Crestford and I hope you enjoy building on it!
