About
This is a detailed map of Groningen and its surroundings. Groningen is one of the largest student cities in the Netherlands, it’s the largest city in the north of the country, and it’s famous for having the world’s highest bicycle density (which should prompt you to create a bike-friendly city!). I have included two popular recreational sites located south of the city on this map; the ‘Paterswoldse Meer’ and the ‘Zuidlaardermeer.’ This allows for a nice mix of city-building and developing the countryside.

Requirements
Because of the decentralized location of the inner city of Groningen on this map, the 81-city tile mod comes highly recommended. Also make sure to download the other required mods for this map; otherwise some roads and train tracks might not appear. I also recommend using landscaping tools, as it will otherwise be very difficult to build around the canals. I did not extensively test this map yet, so let me know if you have feedback!

Scale of the map
The airport in Eelde is located within the boundaries of this map, which was an additional reason for me to frame the map in this way. The train tracks I included are the connections to Hoogezand, Assen, Leeuwarden and Delfzijl. I mostly used NEP’s national roads for the countryside. This map was created using the image overlay mod and Google Earth. All roads, rivers, and train tracks are handdrawn.

NE: Oosterdijkshorn (Groningen)
SW: N858, halfway between Norg and Donderen (Drenthe)
SE: De Groeve (Drenthe)
