Description:

Welcome to Boulder Breakers! This small project is a recreation of the tiny island from the game Chris Sawyer’s Locomotion, used as tutorial and setting for the first scenario. I recreated it by hand in the editor trying to make it as similar to the original as possible, while "upgrading" it to better fit an actual 3D environment. This project took less than 12 hours to make.

This map contains all the main features of the original island. The three towns are located in the correct place, two of wich have the same road layout and buildings, while the one in the start square has only a few roads (and Beachtown now actually has a beach and Boulder Bay a boulder!). In place of the coal and iron ore industries I’ve painted ore and oil resources, while the factory uses the vanilla factory asset to hide the road and rail outside connections. The biggest difference is the steel mill: I’ve built a castle in its place, since that asset is the one that looks more like the steel mill in Locomotion.
Also, the small hills scattered around the island are present in this map, but they’re a lot higher and break up the landscape even more.
The original map doesn’t have any pre-built network, but here I’ve built a small ring road around the island, directly connected to the outside of the map. There is also just a small bit of railway, just enough to allow you to get a rail network started on your own.
Outside connections: 1 highway and railway, 4 ship and plane routes

I’ve used my Pescanoce theme, which is the only requirement for this map (but the vanilla theme also is fine), along with the Vanilla European LUT.

The trees on the map tend to be denser where the original map actually has trees, but the mix of trees is quite different. In the game there are only two types of palms on the entire island, while for this map I’ve used a mix of palms and other trees. There are only 41107 trees, so the map is way below vanilla limits. If you want, you could use Hide It!and activate «Shore Area» to prevent trees close to the water from dying.
These are the settings of the Forest Brush:

Live Oak 70%
Generic Pine Tree 40%
Generic Date Palm 20%
Eastern Cottonwood 60%
Lala Palm 70%
-Strength 60%
