香港人comfort food 的雕像
Siu mai (or Shumai) is a traditional Chinese dumpling, it comes with varieties of different fillings. The fish paste siu mai is a popular street food in Hong Kong. It is often regarded as the symbol of Hong Kong’s street food, alongside the curry fishball, and it is of course loved by Hong Kong locals. The siu mai now have its own statue, made for all siu mai lovers (including me).
This statue is based on the real-life statue of the Golden Bauhinia Square, which is located outside the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It was given by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in celebration of the handover of Hong Kong. The statue is made of bronze with gold leaf and has a base of red granite.
This is a landmark building, 3×3. The building includes only the statue, the fence surrounding was put separately to avoid people from protesting. The flag can be found here.
