Serafen
This pack contains 3 buildings:
- Middle building – Medical clinic
- Left wing – Eldercare
- Right wing – Child health
The three parts are intended to be placed as one interconnected building, but they are modeled as separate buildings and function on their own, for increased versatility in-game.
Serafimerlasarettet, commonly known as Serafen, was Sweden’s first modern hospital, inaugurated in 1752 in Stockholm. Initially, it had eight beds and admitted 15 patients. Over its first 100 years of service, Serafen became a central institution for both medical care and education. However, with numerous advancements in medicine, its facilities could no longer meet the sanitary standards of the mid-1800s, particularly in terms of ventilation, heating, and hygiene. In 1893, the hospital moved to its current building (this model).
Serafen was transformed into a maternity and child care center in 1980, and it continues to serve as an important healthcare facility today.
