SNCF Z23500 (TER 2NPG)
Four consists are included, all with the standard TER livery :
- Z23500 US : Single Unit
- Z23500 UM2 : Multiple Unit (2 units)
- Z23500 UM3 : Multiple Unit (3 units)
- Z23500 UM4 : Multiple Unit (4 units)
The Z23500 is a non-deformable unit consisting of an engine coach (ZB) and a trailer coach (ZRABx) with a reversible cab. They have been designed to be coupled together as well as with the Z24500 and the Z20500 Nord-Pas-de-Calais. The automatic coupler at each end allows the formation of trains of up to 4 units.

The study of the Z23500 (TER 2NPG) began in January 1995. Derived from the Z20500 (Z2N) and the Z22500 (MI2N), they were built by ANF-Industrie and GEC-ALSTHOM for the SNCF. Three French regions have chose the Z23500 to complete their fleet : Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (30 units), Nord-Pas-de-Calais (34 units) and Rhône-Alpes (16 units). The first trainset was delivered in September 1997.
