EMU 700 is a commuter train belonging to the Taiwan Railway Administration ( 台鐵TRA ). It is the first time that the Taiwan Rail has adopted "RAMS", Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and System Safety, for more environmentally friendly.
The front styling was thought to be like the sharp mouth of Honekawa Suneo in the Japanese comic “Doraemon” and was therefore referred to by the railway fans as "The Sneech”.
