When people talking about Los Angeles, what pop-up in your mind? Palm trees? Sunshine and beautiful beach? I believe FASHION and SHOPPING are also another two significant elements.

Van Cleef & Arpels Brand History
The story of Van Cleef & Arpels began with a beautiful union. In 1895, Estelle Arpels, the daughter of a gemstone dealer, married Alfred Van Cleef, the son of a stone cutter. Their shared passion for gemstones and innovation led them to create what would become one of the most prestigious jewelry maisons in the world.
In 1906, Alfred Van Cleef and Estelle’s brother, Charles Arpels, opened the first Van Cleef & Arpels boutique at 22 Place Vendôme, Paris. This historic location remains the brand’s flagship store to this day.
In 1926, their daughter Renée Puissant was appointed Artistic Director. Under her creative leadership, the Maison developed a highly recognizable and distinctive design style, winning multiple international awards.
In 1933, Van Cleef & Arpels patented its iconic Mystery Set™ technique—an invisible setting method where prongs are hidden beneath the gemstones, allowing for an uninterrupted brilliance and seamless beauty. This remains one of the brand’s most technically challenging and admired innovations.
In 1968, Van Cleef & Arpels introduced the Alhambra collection, inspired by the four-leaf clover. Symbolizing luck, love, health, and fortune, the Alhambra motif became a timeless icon and continues to be beloved around the world.
