This asset pack includes ‘The World’s Tallest Bin’ sculpture. This asset was loosely modelled its real life counterpart found at the ‘The World’s Tallest Bin’ Park in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
What has been described as the possible 8th wonder of the modern world ‘The World’s Tallest Bin’ sculpture features a mesmerising architectural design style that has baffled the minds of the greats, and irreplicable artwork considered to be up there with the masterpieces of da vinci and van gough. With each year millions upon millions of devotees make the 593 km pilgrimage to lay on eyes on such flawless beauty. This sculpture is just perfection
… but on a serious note.
The self proclaimed ‘The World’s Tallest Bin’ was erected by the KKKK (Keep Kalgoorlie Klean Kommittee) in 1980 for the Tidy Towns competition. Standing close to 8m high the sculpture is made out of spare rusty piping from the local water supply department and was painted by children from a nearby school. At a later date handles were welded to the sides to replicate the appearance of a bin to serve as a reminder to the townspeople not to litter. Although a bid was made 30 years ago to the Guinness Book of Records there has been no official records nor mention of this sculpture actually being the world’s tallest bin.
