Moskva-2026 Metro Train
Location: Russia
Production Years: Since 2026 (projected)
The Moskva-2026 (Moscow-2026) is the latest generation DC metro train for the Moscow Metro, developed by Transmashholding.
A mock-up of the train’s head car was officially unveiled at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on June 18, 2025, at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre. This model showcases the direction of rolling stock renewal in Moscow’s transit system.
The Moscow-2026 will enter regular passenger service starting in 2026, with the first trains planned for deployment on the Zamoskvoretskaya (Line 2) and Troitskaya (Line 16) metro lines. In total, over 700 new cars are scheduled for delivery during 2026–2027, as part of the world’s largest metro rolling stock contract.
The train features increased passenger capacity, wider doors for faster boarding, open gangways between cars, advanced air conditioning, adaptive LED lighting with colors matching the metro line, USB and Type-C charging ports, and a new headlight design that dims automatically in stations. Interior color schemes are updated, and experimental transparent display panels are built into side windows for dynamic passenger information.
