Medieval Dutch 1350
In Dutch historical theme park: Archeon, you can find thevillage of Gravendam.
Gravedam brings the year 1350 to life. Here, visitors can see the crafts and trades that once filled medieval towns. Unlike real cities of the Middle Ages, there are no beggars or thieves in its streets. Along the Herenstraat stand houses dating from the 11th to the 14th century. The earliest buildings, in the Damstraat, closely resemble the simple houses of the Iron Age, with timber walls and thatched roofs. As time progresses, the first stone structures begin to appear, marking a shift in building traditions. Each house reflects its century, offering a clear view of how daily life and craftsmanship changed over time. Gravendam is not just a reconstruction, but a window into the fabric of medieval urban life.
