The Albrecht Dürer Monument in Nuremberg is a proud tribute to one of Germany’s greatest artists. Unveiled in 1840 on Albrecht-Dürer-Platz, near the Tiergärtnertor, this bronze statue celebrates Dürer (1471–1528), the Renaissance master whose engravings, woodcuts, and paintings shaped European art for centuries. The statue was sculpted by Christian Daniel Rauch, a leading figure of the Berlin school of neoclassical sculpture.
