Munich Tram Shelter #1
A recreation of the historic tram shelter at Max-Weber-Platz in the German city of Munich, originally built in 1906. Its outer shell has been faithfully rebuilt and today serves as the entrance to the U-Bahn station on the square, which remains an important tram junction with several lines still passing through it.
The original building included a waiting room, the station master’s office, a kiosk and public toilets. Munich once featured a wide variety of architecturally distinctive tram shelters, but most of them disappeared over the course of the 20th century.
