Hong Kong Style Ferry Pier
港式渡輪碼頭

Introduction

Please advoid using Move It to move the ferry pier building.
請使用遊戲自帶移動建築功能,避免使用 Move It 來移動此碼頭建築。

Generic ferry pier from Hong Kong. Provides boarding on both sides of the pier, different from the vanilla one.

These are the typical ferry piers built in Hong Kong between 1960 and 1980. When the underwater tunnels weren’t yet constructed, they handled heavy water traffic for passengers crossing Victoria Harbour.

Description

The vanilla ferry pier building has a huge footprint, while it has two separate pier extensions, but ferries were only able to approach one side of the each pier respectively.

As efficiency runs in the blood of people from Hong Kong, I’ve created this ferry pier that utilize both side of the building for boarding, functioning like an island railway platform.

Thanks to the Advance Building Editor mod, I was able to edit the paths within the building and make this happen. The path editing part took me a long time, and after many trial and errors, I was finally able to make it to work as intended.

Important Notes

As regular players might already know, building paths were notoriously easy to break.

So when using this ferry pier (or any custom ferry pier for that matters), advoid using the Move It mod to move the building nor the connected ferry paths, as this would probably result in the paths breaking, and the pier would then turn non functional. Use the vanilla move option in the building’s info panel to move the building instead.

Non functional here means ferries would still stop but passenger wouldn’t get on or off. Moving the connecting vehicle road using Move It shouldn’t cause any issues, as far as I’ve tested.
