Auto Public Transit Planner
Auto Public Transit Planner is a bus-first public transport planner for Cities: Skylines. It scans city demand, finds valid surface-road bus stop locations, links useful transport hubs and tourist anchors, and builds complete bus lines through the vanilla public transport system.
Created by ScratchyBald, Auto Public Transit Planner is part of the same ScratchyBald Cities: Skylines mod family as Pedestrian Crossing Toolkit, Stop Stacker, and Bus Lane Priority.
The current release focuses on stable bus automation. It builds complete generated bus routes, keeps usable live bus service stable during later scans, repairs generated stop visibility, refreshes the vanilla line overview, and gives depot and economics guidance after each scan.

Version 1.0.1 is a general bug-fix update:
– Improves launcher compatibility with UnifiedUI/UUI when launcher buttons are moved or managed by external UI tools.
– Keeps the Auto Public Transit panel visible after UI Resolution scale or resolution changes by clamping it back into the current view.
– Keeps the v1.0.0 bus-first scan, build, maintain, depot guidance, and economics guidance behavior intact.
– Keeps bus-lane road upgrades and non-bus modes parked as in-development features.
Requirements
– No required dependencies.
Compatibility
Auto Public Transit Planner uses the vanilla bus line and public transport systems.
It should work alongside many transport and traffic mods, but other mods that rewrite transport lines, vehicle counts, pathfinding, or public transport UI state can affect what APT sees and how generated lines settle. If a line behaves unexpectedly, rerun the scan after the city has simulated for a short time and include relevant [AutoPublicTransit] log lines in any report.
Stop Stacker, Bus Lane Priority, and Pedestrian Crossing Toolkit are not required.
Current features
– Demand-driven bus route planning.
– Surface-road bus stop anchoring.
– Transit hub and tourist anchor linking.
– Complete vanilla bus-line publication.
– Existing-line audit that avoids disruptive live-service deletion.
– Depot count recommendations.
– Bus economics guidance with useful line, depot, vehicle, and free-transport policy context.
– Player-facing scan summary cards.
– Unified ScratchyBald launcher toolbar support.
In development
– Bus-lane road upgrade recommendations and application are visible but disabled in this release.
– Metro, train, tram, water, air, monorail, and cable car automation are future-mode tabs only.
Known limits
– This release is bus-first. Other transit modes are not automated yet.
– Bus-lane road upgrades are intentionally disabled for release stability.
– The planner is advisory around depot economics; it does not automatically place extra depots beyond the no-depot bootstrap case.
– Cities with heavily customized road assets or other public transport managers may need a settling period and a rerun.
– Generated lines depend on the game accepting valid bus stop and transport-line paths.
