River Red Gum

Introducing the River Red Gum aka Eucalyptus camalduensis. This is the second species in the Eucalyptus series released as a 3 piece set.
The original (River Red Gum) is the largest with the most branches. The mid sized have less branches (River Red Gum medium) and the small version have a single trunk and is much more versatile to fit in the most situations (River Red Gum small).
It can be found all over the world but it is native to Australia. This Eucalyptus series is a part of a greater effort to expand tree types of different climates. There will be more trees of the Oceania variety to come. Stay tuned 🙂
NOTE: I had to increase the texture resolution from my usual 1024 because this tree have very fine leaves. At 1024 the leaves turn into a pixelated mess. 2048 texture size helped so the game renders the leaves decently. Though these trees are heavy, I did not notice any performance hit while testing and making screenshots. The only issue is due to the fact this texture have a lot of alpha area, the auto generated lod is not as solid as most trees. Since this tree was highly requested, I wanted to get as close as I can to make it look good. It’s the most expensive tree I made yet.
