Highway Weave
My attempt to fit a 4-way full-capacity highway intersection into as small and low-rise a footprint as possible, while keeping traffic flow as short and direct as possible. The entire intersection is made from full-width highway, no single-lane ramps. Given how lane-selection currently functions, I’m not sure if it’s actually useful to have highway branching into more full-width highway. I’d be interested to hear how well the design holds up.
Note, because it’s made entirely from highway and contains quite a few elevated sections, it is extremely expensive to build! Only suitable for the busiest of intersections.
