Kuopio, Finland
Kuopio is a city and a municipality located in the region of Northern Savonia, Finland. It is the 8th biggest city in Finland. Kuopio has total area of 3 740 square kilometres of which 964 km2 is water and about one half is forest. The population density of Kuopio is only 70/km2, but the city’s urban areas are very densely populated. The population of the entire Kuopio region is about 120 000. Kuopio is also the cultural center of Eastern Finland.
I have wanted to create my home city Kuopio since the release of Cities Skylines and now I am sharing it with you. This saved game is an extremely accurate and realistic model of city area of Kuopio. The map is created using Terrain party and based on real topografical data. The highway, roads, railway lines, lakes, schools, hospitals, parks and even pedestrian paths are built to match the real life. The only major difference is that there isn’t big cargo harbor/hub in Kuopio, but in this saved game it is built to supply raw materials to industries, I might modify it later. This is one of the few accurately built Finnish cities in Cities Skylines!
The area covered is from Päiväranta to Paloniemi.
Population: 150k+
Built with infinite money and demand master mods enabled as I was focusing more on building the city than in gameplay. Also a few custom assets are required, some of them are essential and some of them are "nice to have". I might replace custom utility buildings with default ones in the near future.
