Boeing 747-8i, Air Canada retro livery, c1988
(Most images captured with Satellite LUT and Daylight Classic)
Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental, the latest in the famous line of wide-body commercial aircraft from the Seattle-based manufacturer.
Air Canada never placed an order for these, as they use the 777, with a similar payload.
As to why I went with the 1988 livery? [begin rant] I absolutely loathe the new livery they’ve gone with beginning in 2017. Black? WTF did they get black from? Since when was it considered one of Canada’s national colours? Yeah, I reject their reality and substitute my own. [end rant] In honour of Canada’s 150th birthday marked last year, I added the official Canada 150 logo.
I’m also considering doing a Trans-Canada Airlines reskin, love to hear comments on whether I should–or other repaints–note I plan on doing Lufthansa, as they most definitely have these.
Included, both vehicle and ploppable versions–ploppable version found under the Plane tab in the Transportation menu. Done to allow for lighting and to avoid the issues with a high-tricount prop. Just make sure it’s got power or the lights won’t come on at night.
Stats:
362 Passengers
2048x D/I/N/S Textures
~5700 tris
~300 tris LOD
256x D/I/N/S LOD textures
Beware, it is a bit high on the tri-count, but I didn’t skimp on the detail.
