85 Castlereagh St, Sydney
Also known as Westfield tower, and completed in 2011, 85 Castlereagh is an office building that sits next to Sydney Tower – it is embedded into the Westfield shopping centre on the Pitt St mall.
I’ll be honest, this isn’t my favourite project. I started this last year right after I finished the second version of Sydney Tower but left it alone, before dusting it off last month to finish. I modelled it without any reference diagrams, just by eye and photos, and the roof of the mall in particular was frustrating and odd. It has large glass walls around the mall shopfronts but I opted not to try a detailed interior. It looks a bit flat and tacky at street level, but I was happy with how the tower itself turned out.
The tower is 151m tall, the overall footprint is 4×8. It’s a level 1 unique building, costs $50k. If you use Ploppable RICO it has a definition built-in for that. Employs around 80 people, spread across all education levels.

I kept the logos separate because I wanted to try using the building variations mod to offer a logo-free alternative, but I couldn’t get it to turn off. My fault, not the mod, I think. Will try again on a later project.
