Northguard Boreal Theme
A fresher, lighter, more vibrant boreal theme.
I like boreal maps (those skies!), but they can look muddy/bleak at ground level. Northguard Boreal Theme aims for a clean, bright, verdant feel.
CUSTOM RESOURCE TEXTURES IN SCREENSHOTS
This them was initially made for a couple of my own map ideas. I wanted to use resources as landscape features, rather than just shading. And so:
- Some textures here (especially ore!) are BOLD on flat ground, while fertile is quite muted.
- Painting with them takes a bit of subtlety, unless you want very strong definition.
- Try layering them with a small, light brush – around 3-7% strength.
- Alternatively, start out bold then gently erase (1-3% strength) until you get the effect you want.
- Placing a very light sand layer over strong ore/oil helps blend them nicely.
Screenshots taken with Relight Average LUT and Daylight Classic, but use whatever combo you like best in game.
